Forbici Jernej – Blue E. L.T. Everywhere

He was born in 1980 in Maribor. In 1999/2000 he studied painting at the Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana in the class of Prof. Darko Slavc. In 2000, he was accepted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice where he graduated in 2005. He completed his postgraduate studies under Prof. Carlo di Raco. He lives and works in Venice, Vicenza, Ptuj, and Berlin.

Since his student days, he has painted vast landscapes that evoke associations with biblical themes. In pronounced perspective and aerial view, he presents immense plains that meander into infinity. Close in perspective to the Venetian Mannerism of the 16th century, and in color to the Northern new expressionism, his painting is current and admonishing, which, through local themes, speaks about the universal.
