Boris Zaplatil – Peace above Rab

Born in Ljubljana,Slovenia in 1957. After građuating from the Academy of Design, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, građuating in the class of Professor Gustav Gnamuš in 1982. Two years later he completed the specialist study. He has been participating in eminent exhibition shows in Slovenia and abroad presenting his works in 130 group shows and 73 individual ones since 1979, and has been a member of the Slovenian Artists Association since 1982. He has also takenpart in numerous art colonies, 44 in total, including such reputed colonies as Beljak, Sinji Vrh, Medana, Cahores and Perugia. Boris has received eleven avvards for his Creative work. In 2000 he worked as a professional advisor in the making of the Hypo Bank art collection in Ljubljana, and in 2001 and 2002 as a curator in Imprima gallery in Ljubljana. He is a freelance artist who lives and works in Ljubljana. He is considered to be one of the most productive artists in Slovenia vvhose originality and a masterly knowledge of painting and the medium always surprises and inspires us anew.
